Artist Bio and Statement
Elizabeth Crocker is best known for her dynamic acrylic paintings, usually incorporating multi-layers of color to a base layer of gesso and canvas string. Cotton string or torn canvas pieces is applied to the wet gesso layer, "gluing" the strings in place as a fluid and organic framework. From there Elizabeth is able to begin imagining what she sees in the movement of the lines across the canvas and begins applying color in steps or scattered among the shapes. Some colors are layered over as the painting begins to tell its own story, and details and patterns come to life.
Elizabeth is originally from North Texas but has spent the majority of her adult life living in Colorado. When Elizabeth is not working as a nurse, she is spending time painting, reading, watching fantasy and sci-fi, traveling, and most importantly, spending time with her loved ones. Elizabeth draws motivation and inspiration from her life; friends, work, travels, television and movies, visiting museums. One of her favorite areas to visit (and hopefully have a second permanent residence) is the Pacific Northwest. If you decide to follow her on Instragam, you will likely see photos of both her travels and her artwork.

If you have time to look at past works and compare them to more recent works, you should be able to see how experimental I was in the beginning, working over the years to try to find my artistic style.
